Economy Ministry pledges to defend Armenian products against illegal Chinese imports

PanARMENIAN.Net - Illegal Chinese products which are delivered to the Armenian synthetic diamond market damage the local production.

As Almast plant director Vahram Tepelikyan told a press conference in Yerevan, the cost of the Chinese output is much lower, as it is imported illegally, bypassing the customs control. “We have requested the government to address the problem,” he said.

Armenian Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan, in turn, said that “we must defend local products from the illegal Chinese imports.” He pledged to take action to secure equal conditions for local and foreign manufacturers.
