ADB representative pleased with North-South program implementation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Mаnuk Vardanyan met with Arto Ahonen, Asian Development Bank's responsible for investment programs of North-South transport corridor construction, and program analyst Mila Pampolina.

According to ministry's press office, the parties discussed the process of ADB financed program of reconstructing village roads, emphasizing the importance of maintenance and operation of those roads. They also touched upon a range of financial, environmental, organizational issues regarding property disposal within the first and second tranches of investment program of North-South corridor construction.

ADB representative said he is pleased with the process of the program implementation.

On January 14, 2010, the Armenian government approved the investment program of the construction of North-South transport corridor and Armenia-ADB $500-million framework agreement.
