ANM board chairman says independence greatest of all valuesSeptember 21, 2011 - 13:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Movement (ANM) board chairman congratulated Armenian people on the 20th anniversary of independence. “The independence is the greatest and longest-awaited one of all values,” Aram Manukyan said in a conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. “Our independence came as a result of long and persistent efforts,” Manukyan stated pointing out creation of democratic institutes, army formation, integration in the international community among the independent republic’s achievements. “Unfortunately, change of power led to regress, with ruling power comprised of people opposing the independence, who demonstratively allow participation of Russian troops in today’s military parade,” Manukyan said. In this context, ANM chairman noted increased emigration among the greatest shortcomings of the independent Armenia. However, Manukyan expressed optimism about the future of the country, to be made possible through the efforts of a new generation. “The independence will become fulfilled; Armenia will be free of forces, opposing it,” he stressed.
