RPA will stick to its choice for Sargsyan as presidential candidate –RPA faction leader

PanARMENIAN.Net - The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has a normal attitude towards the 2nd Armenian president Robert Kocharian, RPA parliamentary group leader said.

“We were a supporting power for him during the 10 years of reforms in Armenia. We highly appreciate his contribution to statehood building in the country,” Galust Sahakyan told a news conference in Yerevan. “I don’t think there’s any republican who’d have a negative attitude for Robert Kocharian.”

“However, RPA has already made its choice as to the presidential candidate and will stick to it,” Sahakyan stressed.

Armenia’s coalition parties signed a memorandum assigning Serzh Sargsyan as a unified presidential candidate.
