Armenia to host international ministerial summit on tourism in autumn

PanARMENIAN.Net - Details of international ministerial summit on tourism to be held in autumn 2012 in Yerevan were specified at 19th session of the UNWTO General Assembly in Korea.

As Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Economy Ara Petrosyan told a news conference in Yerevan, a declaration on tourism sector will be adopted based on session results, which will contribute to Armenia’s making an entrance into global tourism industry.

As the Deputy Minister noted, the event of such a scale will largely contribute to Armenia’s ranking in international tourist market.

On October 8-14, Korea hosted the 19th session of the UN World Tourism Organisation General Assembly, with representatives of 154 countries participating. On session sidelines, an online voting for Vettor Giusti tourism posters competition was organised with Armenia announced as the winner of People's Choice Award nomination. UNWTO Secretary General Talib Rifai handed the prize to Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Economy Ara Petrosyan.
