Computer center with broadband internet opens in Tavush village October 24, 2011 - 16:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A modern computer center, furnished with broadband internet, opened in Tavush village of Tavush province of Armenia, through joint efforts of Orange Armenia, Shen NGO and the local community. The newly opened computer center of the village having 1800 inhabitants is equipped with 6 computers, printer/scanner, Orange Flybox router and comfortable furniture, which will enable the inhabitants not only to be connected to the world, but also to participate in computer courses. For implementation of this project, Orange has allotted a total of AMD 2 mln 350 thous. As Arthur Hovhannisyan, the head of Tavush village administration, said, only 10% of the families of the village had computers and internet access at home, thus, the computer center would be a real “public window” to internet. “We have built a large 3G+ network and made broadband internet accessible even to the borderline settlements. Providing access to the inhabitants of remote settlements to the world of state-of-art technologies, we make their life easier, the distance between their friends and relatives shorter and also enable them in many respects to enjoy the same benefits as the inhabitants of Yerevan,” commented Orange Armenia CEO Bruno Duthoit.
