  Samvel Nikoyan, Larisa Alaverdyan nominated for parliament speaker December 5, 2011 - 15:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - At the ongoing sitting of Armenian National Assembly, head of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group Galust Sahakyan nominated the vice speaker Samvel Nikoyan for the speaker’s post. The leader of Heritage opposition party Raffi Hovannisian, in turn, designated party member Larisa Alaverdyan. Following his nomination, Nikoyan promised to use his 9 years of parliament work experience to justify expectations of public and his colleagues. Ms. Alaverdyan, however, refrained from comments. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
