VivaCell-MTS provides Gyumri children’s hospital with relevant equipments

PanARMENIAN.Net - In the framework of neonatal care project, VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian visited Austrian Children's Hospital in Gyumri providing it with an intensive care incubator, a CPAP system and other technical equipments.

“Infant mortality rate in Armenia four times exceeds the one in countries such as the UK and the U.S. As a corporate responsible company VivaCell-MTS could not turn a blind eye to the issue and stepped up cooperation with BirthLink NGO,”Mr.Yirikian said.

About 40000 deliveries are recorded in Shirak province annually. Austrian Children’s hospital in Gyumri receives babies from throughout the province; thus instead of passing the long way to Yerevan it is more convenient to take babies to a regional hospital with all necessary equipments for child care.

Starting 2010, VivaCell-MTS and BirthLink NGO have extended assistance to hospitals in Shirak province. In the framework of the project, in 2010 Austrian Children’s hospital was renewed with an intensive care incubator, CPAP system, a non-invasive respiratory support system, monitor, heated mattress and other equipments, VivaCell-MTS press service reported.
