Industry share in GDP to reach 25% as of 2011 outcomes

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Union of Local Manufacturers welcomes long-awaited development strategy regarding Armenia’s export-oriented industrial policy, head of the institution Vazgen Safaryan said.

According to Prime Minister Tigran Sargysan, the strategy implies transition to the new economic policy that was long hailed for its industrial development and potential.

Mr. Safaryan further noted that as of 2011 outcomes, 25% industry share in GDP/AMD 900 bln. is stipulated against 23,5% or AMD 824 bln. of 2010.

Head of the Union suggested nonferrous metallurgy, chemical industry, mechanical engineering, as well as light industry be developed in addition to the fields outlined in Armenia’s economic policy.
