Turkey pleased with Azerbaijan’s stance on Genocide bill![]() February 9, 2012 - 21:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed satisfaction with Azerbaijani position on the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial, passed by the French Senate. “We are pleased with Azerbaijan’s stance on the Genocide bill. However, we should do the utmost. Turkey and Azerbaijan must keep backing each other regarding all issues,” Erdoğan said, hailing Azerbaijan’s assistance extended to Turkey. Representatives of the Armenian, Pontian Greek and Assyrian communities gave appropriate readings from the Bible. “We severely condemn attacks on religions centers and sacred sites,” the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia said. In his speech Armenian Foreign Minister thanked leadership of Massachusetts for supporting Armenian community’s initiative.
