Sociologist: RPA, Prosperous Armenia absolute favorites in upcoming elections

PanARMENIAN.Net - The ruling Republican Party of Armenia and Prosperous Armenia will be absolute favorites in the National Assembly elections due in May, head of Sociometer sociological center Aharon Adibekyan said.

Preliminary surveys show that RPA would get 39 and Prosperous Armenia 36 per cent of votes if elections were to be held next Sunday, he told a press conference in Yerevan.

Adibekyan said the Armenian National Congress would get 8.5 %, ARF Dashnaktsutyun 6.1%, while Orinats Yerkir and Heritage would get 5.1% of votes each. The sociologist stressed that no party except for these six makes it into the parliament.

However, these are the preliminary findings, and the situation may change prior to the elections.

Adibekyan also informed that Sociometer will conduct regular public surveys on the parliamentary elections throughout the pre-election period.
