Former soviet states to celebrate 20th anniversary of UN membership

PanARMENIAN.Net - A festive reception dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the accession of former Soviet Republics into United Nations Organization will be held on March 9, according to the radio of UN.

All former states will celebrate this important event together, CA-NEWS quotes Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the UN Byrganym Aitimova as saying.

"Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Azerbaijan will hold the reception to mark the 20th anniversary of our membership in the UN on March 9," Aytimova said.

General Assembly adopted 9 states to the UN, flags of which were raised in front of New York headquarters on March 2, 1992. Among them are: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
