Victor Dallakyan's RPA membership stirred public response - paper

PanARMENIAN.Net - National Assembly member Victor Dallakyan's membership in the Republican Party of Armenia aroused wide public response.

One of Facebook social network users placed a video demonstrating Dallakyan's election meeting during 2007 parliamentary campaign, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

At a meeting with voters in Vanadzor's 30th constituency, Dallakyan says in the video: “So, why are your salaries and pensions so low? Do you know why? Because when [president] Serzh Sargsyan goes to Monte Carlo casinos, his lowest bet starts at $50000. And this is all your money. They are just teasing you, raising your pensions by AMD 20 and expecting you to joy over it.”

This speech also helped Dallakyan enter the parliament perhaps; however, he joins the party headed by Serzh Sargsyan while his current mandate is not over yet.

Another Facebook user responded to this saying, “Why do you think Dallakyan joined the RPA following such colorful speech on Sargsyan’s adventures in Monte Carlo? Perhaps Sargsyan told Dallakyan he would take him to casinos if he behaved himself.”
