Cannes to premiere

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Madagascar 3" is making its world premiere in Cannes, the first summer tentpole to stake a date on the sked - and only the second film announced after festival opener "Moonrise Kingdom" from Wes Anderson, Variety reported.

DreamWorks has some history on the Croisette, having premiered "Shrek" (2000), "Shrek 2" (a 2004 competition title), "Over the Hedge" (2006) and "Kung Fu Panda" (2008) there. DWA also held its international junket for "Kung Fu Panda 2" in Cannes, though it was not in the festival.

Paramount is releasing the 3D "Madagascar 3" in the U.S. on June 8.

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted follows Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman as they are still fighting to get home to their beloved Big Apple. Their journey takes them through Europe where they find the perfect cover: a traveling circus, which they reinvent - Madagascar style.
