Artsakh: Baku's destructive stance pushes back Karabakh settlement

PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 19, Acting Foreign Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Vassily Atajanian received Conciliation Resources organization’s Caucasus Program Manager Laurence Broers.

Greeting the guest, Vassily Atajanian stressed the importance of international NGOs in resolving humanitarian issues and strengthening the regional stability.

Mr. Broers, in turn, presented the organization’s programs implemented in the region, in particularly, in Nagorno Karabakh, noting that they were aimed at the development of the civil society.

During the meeting, Mr. Atajanian touched upon the process of democratic institutes’ development in the NKR, a series of humanitarian issues, as well as the pre-history of the Karabakh conflict and the current stage of the negotiation process aimed at settlement. He noted that the destructive position of official Baku at the negotiations and the state-level policy of hatred towards Armenians pushed back the prospects of the conflict settlement and enhanced the hostility between the parties’ societies.

The Acting Foreign Minister noted that the Nagorno Karabakh Republic’s readiness for a dialogue and cooperation, underscoring the necessity of regular visits to the NKR by different-level European officials for studying the real situation in place.

Vassily Atajanian expressed readiness to do his utmost to support the activity of the Conciliation Resources in the NKR, NKR MFA press service reported.
