Tigran Sargsyan: reforms to reach conformity with European values can help mitigate regional conflicts

PanARMENIAN.Net - Over its centuries-long history, the Armenian nation has formed certain values, promoting the survival, although not the development of the nation. Yet, at present, Armenia is not guided by the values once proclaimed, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated.

“Armenia does not possess enough resources to independently implement reforms initiated 2,5 years ago. To this end, Armenia is in need of EU-provided technical and financial assistance,” the Prime Minister he noted in his speech at Yerevan-hosted European Perspectives conference, held within Eastern Partnership program framework.

“In 2011, special attention will be given to transformation of the system of values. By proclaiming European values, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia should implement relevant reforms, which will create further potential for regional cooperation. This, in turn, can result in mitigation of existing regional conflicts,” the Prime Minister concluded.
