Relations with Iran and other Islamic countries important for Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran is an important country for Armenia, it’s an outlet to the outside world, Armenian President said.

“To have problems with Iran would mean to clog the pipe Armenia is breathing through,” Serzh Sargsyan told Echo of Moscow.

“Relations between our countries are developing . There is an agreement on construction of Armenia-Iran railway. Joint construction of hydro power plant at Arax river has been already launched,” he said.

Besides, the Armenian President noted, Iran doesn’t yield to provocative acts of Azerbaijan which tries to attach a religious coloring to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

“It’s important for us to have even relations with Iran and other Islamic countries, where Armenian could feel free to preserve their language, culture and values,” Sargsyan said.
