Eduard Sharmazanov: Turkey’s attempts to meddle with Karabakh process doomed to failure

PanARMENIAN.Net - President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mevlut Cavusoglu, managed to restore the subcommittee on Nagorno Karabakh but this structure will not play any role in the conflict settlement, said Eduard Sharmazanov, secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group.

“Armenia and OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs have repeatedly stated that the conflict should be resolved in the framework of the MG and other formats can hamper the peace process. Armenia’s position is clear: Turkey’s attempts to meddle with the Karabakh process are doomed to failure,” he told a news conference in Yerevan.

Sharmazanov also welcomed the referendum on independence in South Sudan, saying that it may be a precedent for resolution of the Karabakh conflict.

“The triumphal realization of the right of nations to self-determination is observed all over the world and this process in irreversible,” he said.
