People’s Party rally participants were handed red cards carrying Our Father prayer

PanARMENIAN.Net - On February 28, several thousands of people gathered for Tigran Karapateyan’s People’s Party rally at Matenadaran, the institute of ancient manuscripts.

As he stated, the authorities blocked the roads to prevent the residents of Armenia’s regions from arriving in the capital to participate in the rally. “Shame on democracy that doesn’t exist, on the system which blocks the roads to hush up the popular voice,” Karapetyan said.

The People’s Party leader urged all those gathered to commemorate the victims of March 1, 2008 events as well as Sumgait massacres, which he named a “new genocide”.

The party secretary Manvel Margaryan, in turn, called on the Armenian people to follow the example of the Arabic nations.

Before the start of the rally, the party activists distributed red cards carrying the prayer Our Father among all those gathered.
