Heritage party urges to punish policemen who dispersed rally in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chief of Staff of the Armenian government David Sargsyan received head of Heritage parliamentary group Stepan Safaryan with respect to the incident near the government building

Street traders, Armenian parliament members and policemen clashed in Yerevan on March 3. Street traders, who were protesting against the decision of Yerevan Mayor’s Office to ban street trade for several weeks, planned to hold a protest action at 11:00am in front of the Armenian government building. However, the governmental building was encircled by hundreds of policemen, who prevented rally participants from approaching the governmental building. This has resulted in a clash between peace activists and policemen, who applied force towards the rally participants.

During the meeting, Safaryan urged to punish those policemen who applied force towards rally participants and members of the Armenian parliament.

Safaryan insisted on placement of the video material showing the incident near the governmental building on the RA police website without editing it.
