U.S. Ambassador to Armenia: there’s no alternative to peaceful settlement of Karabakh issueMarch 23, 2011 - 16:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - At news conference in Yerevan, the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch reiterated the U.S. adherence to peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict. “There’s no alternative to peaceful settlement of Karabakh issue,” Ms. Yovanovitch said, naming the OSCE MG as the only international structure responsible for the negotiation process. As she noted, the U.S. is closely cooperating with the OSCE MG co-chairs, who, during their recent visit to the region, urged the conflicting parties to continue talks. Ms. Yovanovitch emphasized the importance of the trilateral meeting of the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents in Sochi, pointing out that the agreements achieved at the meeting must be used to promote the peace process.
