Heritage faction leader names all Armenian presidents responsible for March 2008 eventsApril 12, 2011 - 15:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The second and third presidents of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan must be held responsible for tragic events of March 2008, according to Heritage parliamentary group leader. As Stepan Safaryan told a news conference in Yerevan, Kocharyan’s fault lies in the fact of his presidency when the events occurred, while Sargsyan is to blame for failure to discover those responsible for the crime. Safaryan named all political forces of Armenia, including ANC, responsible for March 2008 events. He also added that his Facebook statement describing the behavior of ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian is only denied by those who weren’t in Ter-Petrossian’s house during tragic events. As Safaryan stressed earlier in his Facebook post, Ter-Petrossian should have foreseen the development of the events at Myasnikyan Square, by either being present in person or dismissing the rally to prevent the tragedy. According to Safaryan, in the morning of March 1, 2008 he informed Ter-Petrossian about the gathering of people at Myasnikyan Square, to which the ex-president replied, “it’s not my people.” Top stories The Cabinet of Ministers decided on Thursday, November 9 to allocated AMD 120 million to arrange the gathering.
