Hayk Demoyan: humanity has not created mechanisms for genocide prevention

PanARMENIAN.Net - Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute (AGMI) Hayk Demoyan said that the humanity has so far failed to create mechanisms for genocide prevention.

“On April 24, 1915, an order was issued to annihilate Armenians. The Armenian intellectuals of Istanbul were the first victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, then men were killed and women, elderly and children deportation,” Demoyan said during Yerevan-Moscow TV spacebridge titled ‘Armenian Genocide in 96 years…’

According to Demoyan, the main conceptual matter, message on the verge of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is that the humanity has not created mechanisms for future genocides prevention.

“The events in Africa prove that, unfortunately, human values are pushed aside against the background of current environment in international relations, new strategic unions, military-political relations. Currently, dual standards prevail in international relations and policy, while partner relations are considered to be a priority,” said Demoyan.
