ANC leader congratulates demonstrators on authorities’ fulfillment of opposition demands

PanARMENIAN.Net - During May 31 rally at liberty Square, the leader of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC), the first Armenian president Levon Ter-Petrossian congratulated those gathered on the authorities’ fulfillment of 3 main demands advanced by the opposition, which, he noted, is a major victory.

“Undoubtedly, international community’s pressure on Armenian authorities contributed to the fact, yet the pressure would have been less effective if it were not for the ANC and the people’s efforts in a struggle against tyranny,” ANC leader stressed.

Earlier, ANC advanced 3 basic demands: permission for rallies at Liberty Square, investigation of March 1-2, 2008 events, release of political prisoners.
