RPA advises ANC not to dramatize political dialogue

PanARMENIAN.Net - Member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Artak Zakaryan said the authorities have always offered their hand to any political force for dialogue.

“We hail the dialogue with the Armenian National Congress (ANC), but I would like the Congress not to exaggerate the reasons behind it. The amnesty was a humane step, while it was conditioned not by the opposition’s actions, but by the fact that we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence this year,” Zakaryan told a press conference in Yerevan, commenting on possible dialogue between the authorities and ANC.

Asked what kind of political developments will happen in Armenia, taking into consideration the release of a number of ANC supporters, Zakaryan said the political processes in the country should proceed as per the Armenian Constitution and law, while repetition of the March 2008 events should be prevented.
