RA Deputy PM, WB experts discuss joint healthcare projects![]() May 13, 2010 - 12:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - RA Deputy PM, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan met with the World Bank team representatives dealing with healthcare projects carried out in Armenia. RA Minister of Healthcare Harutyun Kushkyan also took part in the meeting. Mr. Gevorgyan was briefed on the implementation of the WB-funded Health System Modernization Project, the first stage of which will be accomplished soon. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the work carried out. Additional Funding Project on Health System Modernization envisages re-equipment of a number of regional hospitals, reconstruction and re-equipment of Abovyan and Alaverdi hospitals, construction of new hospital in Meghri. According to Mr. Gevorgyan, there should be at least three medical centers in Syunik (in Goris, Kapan, Meghri-Agarak). Introduction of healthcare insurance system was in the focus of the meeting, reported the division of public relations of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
