Prisoner serving his sentence for October 27, 1999 case dies

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hamlet Stepanyan, who was sentenced for 14 years in prison for the terrorist attack in the Armenian parliament on October 27, 1999, died in Nubarashen jail on May 15, 2010. No sign of violent death was found during the preliminary examination of the body.

Hamlet Stepanyan was sentenced in compliance with the following articles of the Armenian Criminal Code: 300.1 (usurping state power), 305 (assassination of a state, political or public figure), 217 (terrorism) and 133 (illegal deprivation of freedom.)
