Multilingual information panels installed at new Nature Trail at Kirants and Samson GorgesJune 19, 2010 - 16:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Multilingual information panels were installed at the new Nature Trail at Kirants and Samson Gorges in Ajarkut (Kirants) Village, Tavush region of Armenia. This was Armenian Monuments Awareness Project's (AMAP) fourth presentation in 2010. It highlights one of Armenia’s least known wilderness areas, teeming with wildlife and natural wonders, the press service of VivaCell company reported. The trail features the stunning Sevkar Forest and five historic monuments: Arakelots, Kirants, Deghznut and Samson Monasteries and Berdkar (Mahkanaberd) Castle. These magnificent monuments lay in an enchanting forest setting, home to dozens of flower species and mammals including the rare Brown Bear, Wild Cat and European Roe Deer. The projects are sponsored by VivaCell-MTS, the US Ambassadors Cultural Fund, USAID/CAPS, the Honorary Consul for Italy in Gyumri and the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. This initiative of AMAP is directed not only to tourists but also to the local population with the expectation to increase awareness of the unique natural and cultural monuments existing in Armenia and to encourage the younger generation to acknowledge and preserve our national treasures.
