AMD 9.4bln to be allocated from Armenian budget for science development in 2011June 25, 2010 - 17:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the State Committee for Science Samvel Harutyunyan said that AMD 9.4bln are envisaged to be allocated for science development in 2011. The funds for innovative programs will be included in a separate budget item, Harutyunyan told journalists. “According to my calculations, if these funds are provided, the total financing of Armenia’s science may amount to AMD 12bln,” said Harutyunyan. AMD 5.5bln are allocated for scientific activity, while 2bln will be spent for purchase of equipment, various international scientific organizations’ membership fees, etc. Besides, AMD 1bln is envisaged for development works in the defense industry.
