Governmental committee shields Deno Gold Mining violations?![]() March 11, 2011 - 17:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The State Environmental Inspection of Nature Protection Ministry of Armenia, which conducted examinations in Deno Gold Mining Compаny activity in 2010, appears to shield the company’s violations. According to EcoLur NGO press office, the company didn’t present the following amounts of metals for the Q4 of 2010: Zn – 152,20 tons, Pb – 22, 7 tons, Au –38,81 kg, Ag – 100 kg. Some documents seem to have disappeared. The matter concerns huge amounts of precious and nonferrous metals the company must pay for. In case of default, huge fines will imposed on it. Nevertheless, in accordance with the official data of the State Environmental Inspection, the violation of RA Law “On Environmental and Nature Management Fees” was recorded in the company and in this regard an administrative fine in the amount of AMD 50,000 was imposed. In 2008 violations of Article 99 of Water Code of Armenia were recorded in the same company and an administrative fine in the amount of AMD 150,000. In 2009 the Combine made the same violation and was fined in the amount of AMD 100,000. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
