Armenia to host scientific conference dated to Fridtjof Nansen’s birth anniversary![]() April 18, 2011 - 16:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 20-21, Yerevan will host an Armenian Genocide and Scandinavian Response international scientific conference dated to the 150th birth anniversary of Norwegian explorer, scientist, diplomat, humanitarian and Nobel laureate Fridtjof Nansen. The conference will be held with the cooperation of the Armenian Genocide Museum. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan will deliver an opening speech. Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakossian as well as Swiss, Norwegian and Armenian scientists were invited to participate. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan.
