Monument to Humanity to disappear in May 2011

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Monument to Humanity in Kars, Turkey, will disappear in May 2011.

The demounting works will start within next 15 days; the territory will be provided to the national real estate department of Kars.

Earlier, monument designer Mehmet Aksoy has sued Kars mayoralty and an administrative court in Erzrum ruled to postpone dismantling. Hovered, the town administration has appealed the ruling after what it was finally decided to demolish the statue.

On April 6, unknown people painted the foundation of the monument symbolizing Armenian-Turkish friendship into three different colors.
