Emergency measures prolonged for several days in Marganets

PanARMENIAN.Net - Police of Marganets, Dnepropetrovsk Region, is protecting public order. Police officers detained a suspect charged with murder of a policeman, and accused with stirring mass disorders and fights between Ukrainians and Armenians.



The detained is kept at pre-trial prison along with instigator of a fight at the hospital. All Armenian houses are patrolled. City residents are returning, though still concerned.



Emergency measures will be prolonged for several days in Marganets. The victim of recent riots, 22-year old police sergeant Sergey Bondarenko will be buried today. Relatives of the victim said they don't want revenge.



Riots started after a fight between Ukrainians and Armenians in a cafe of Ukrainian city of Marganets. A young police inspector was killed at the attempt to stop the fight. Ukrainians called the police and Armenians disappeared from the scene of fight.



For the second time, fight participants met at the hospital to where those injured were taken. Both companies came with reinforcement.



Kids playing nearby witnessed the pogrom. After a short fight Armenians left and their cars were left for hooligans to demolish, Analitika.at.ua reported.
