Armenian Cinematographers Concerned over Manifestations of Xenophobia in Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nationalist actions against foreigners in Russia are aimed against the unity of Russia itself, stated Armenian film director, Secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia Mikayel Dovlatyan. In his words, civil wars begin exactly with actions like these. We remind that a group of unknown persons attacks Dovlatyan in Moscow underground passage on April 23. He was hit with a bottle on his head, after which those attacking dispersed. Dovlatyan was in Moscow to take part in the Forum of National Cinematographies.



The film director also reported that the Confederation of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia has sent a letter to the Governments of Russia and Moscow, expressing its attitude on the vent. Specifically, the letter expressed concern that xenophobia manifestations threaten humanitarian cooperation between the countries.
