Time to work out national strategy for counteracting Baku and Ankara

PanARMENIAN.Net - The state propaganda of Baku works very actively not only in Russia, but also in all those countries, where they have diplomatic missions, head of Armenian-Russian Union (a "Hay Dat" Committee) Yuri Navoyan told a press conference in Yerevan. He said, Azeri Diaspora of Russia is larger of the Armenian one and more organized, which cannot be spoken about the Armenian Diaspora. "Azeris are very aggressive, especially when the matter is about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. They organize demonstrations, meetings with Russian political figures, during which they tell the "truth" about Khodjalu. Besides, they have nothing to say. In this respect we carry out works in various directions; we tell about the 1915 Armenian Genocide, explain the situation in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict," Navoyan said.

In her part head of "Hay Dat" Scandinavian Committee Susan Khardalian underlined Armenian Diaspora of Sweden has 5 000 members, while the Azeri Diaspora has 100 000 members. "The ruling social-democratic party has interests with Turkey, and in this respect it's very difficult to work for us. The Azeri, Turkish and Persian communities act in a joint front, against which is aimed the main activity of "Hay Dat" Commission in Scandinavian countries," Khardalian told.

Aris Papikian, head of Armenian National Committee of Canada, sad that Turkey and Azerbaijan spend $10 million annually for PR measures. "Ambassadors of these countries work very actively unlike the Armenian Embassy," Papikian underscored. In his opinion it's time to work out a national strategy for counteracting Baku and Ankara in the issue of the Armenian Genocide and solution of the Nagorno Karabakh problem.
