Arkadi Ghukassian: Current format of talks on Karabakh is destructive

PanARMENIAN.Net - NKR President Arkadi Ghukassian had a meeting with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement in Yerevan. Permanent Representative of OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andzej Kasprzjuk also was present at the meeting. Details of the offer made by the Co-Chairs on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, as well as results of OSCE Chairman-in-Office Miguel Angel Moratinos's visit to the region were discussed during the meeting. "Our stance has not changed and it will not change: first of all it is necessary to solve the issue of Karabakh status and then to pass to other problems," NKR President Arkadi Ghukassian stated to journalist after the meeting. In his opinion, the current format of talks is destructive, but the Karabakh has always hoped that Azerbaijan and Armenia will be able to agree. "However, those hopes did not come true. Azerbaijan uses the current format of talks for propaganda purposes, in order to say that the conflict exists only between Armenia and Azerbaijan. However, both sides realize that without Nagorno Karabakh no solution is possible," the NKR President underscored.
