Statements on Iranian citizens serving in Armenian army absurd

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Presently, I do not see a possibility for Azerbaijan's launching hostilities, but as Defense Minister I am ready for military operations," Armenian Defense Minister Mikael Harutyunyan said when commenting on frequent publications of Azeri media, which can be rated as preparation and justification of resumption of hostilities.

Baku's statements on tension at the border are false. "If Baku wants to prevent shots it had better control the military personnel and prohibit them from shooting. Each attempt of the Azeri side receives an appropriate response," he said adding that our army is capable to defend Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.

On the whole, the Minister said, such publications are meant for 'domestic consumers.'

Mikael Harutyunyan refuted his Azeri counterpart Safar Abiyev's statement on presence of Iranian citizens in the Armenian army.

"It's just absurd," RA Minister said, IA Regnum reports.
