U.S. government treats Armenian-Iranian relations with understanding

PanARMENIAN.Net - "The U.S. government treats the Armenian-Iranian relations with understanding," U.S. Charge d'Affairs in Armenia, Ambassador Rudolph Perina told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

"Armenia's only overland route lies through Iran and we understand the complexity of the situation and we talked about it with Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan. However, the government is concerned over Iran's nuclear file and hopes that the problem will be resolved peacefully," he said.

Mr Perina will resign his commission to Vice-Ambassador Joseph Pennington October 26.
