53 detained, 16 arrested in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - 53 people were detained and 16 arrested over suspicion in participation in March 1 riots in Yerevan. 350 witnesses (300 of them immediate participators in disorders) were interrogated, Armenia's prosecutor general Aghvan Hovsepyan told a news conference today.



"Some witnesses testified how cudgels and explosive assemblies were distributed. People were also given alcohol," he said, adding, "All materials will be published."
