Ara Papyan: how can we trust Armenia's security to Turkey? PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey's Caucasus Stability and Cooperation Platform will hardly be implemented, Armenian historian Ara Papyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

A plan 3+3+2 (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Turkey, Iran, U.S. and EU) failed several years ago, he reminded.

"The same story will be now. I can't understand how we can trust Armenia's security to Turkey. Is there anybody who thinks that one football match can reconcile the two countries? Turkey seeks domination in the region. But neither Russia nor the U.S. wants a strong Turkey. So, they will not hurry to support the initiative," he said.

At that, he noted that Turkey pursues an insidious policy, urging to form a commission of historians to study the fact of the Armenian Genocide.

"Armenia should insist that denial of the Genocide and its consequences is a shameful page in Turkish history. No relations are possible unless Turkey acknowledges it. We should beware of Turkish interference in any Armenian affair," the diplomat concluded.
