"We are willing to render Armenia political and financial assistance for implementation of the European Neighborhood Policy action plan," Mr. Barroso said after talks with the Armenian leader. "Caucasus is a vital region for Europe and we will try to make words and deeds never vary," he said, adding that political dialog between Yerevan and Ankara can help establishment of security in the region and settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
