RA Diaspora Minister awarded French National Order of the Legion of Honor

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister for Diaspora Affairs Hranush Hakobyan was awarded the French National Order of the Legion of Honor.



The Order, which is the highest national distinction, was awarded to Hranush Hakobyan for contributions to the development of friendship between Armenia and France.



"We're very pleased to bestow the Order to Mrs. Hakobyan. She has long been a member of French-Armenian Friendship Parliamentary Group and actively participated in organization of celebrations of the Year of France in Armenia," French Ambassador in Armenia Serge Smessov said during the Award Ceremony.



For her part, Minister Hakobyan said she accepts the award on behalf of 1000 children who visited Paris in the framework of the Year of France in Armenia and became "little Ambassadors of Armenia."



"It's a great honor to me as well as a great responsibility," she said.
