Heritage can't go for Mayor election alone, ANC says

PanARMENIAN.Net - 18 opposition parties, which are members of the Armenian National Congress, and the ANC head office, have decided to nominate Armenia's first President, leader of radical opposition Levon Ter-Petrosyan as the key candidate for the post of Mayor of Yerevan.

People's Party leader Stepan Demirchyan will be the second in the list.

The ANC is expected to launch unification talks with Heritage party, according to ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan.

"The Armenian National Congress is the embodiment of the Armenian opposition. If all opposition parties unite, the society will never accept Heritage party as a separate opposition force," he said.
