RA Ministry of Agriculture to sponsor preventive livestock health careApril 15, 2009 - 18:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - By May 2009 all the cattle stock in Armenia will undergo preventive health care, Head of RA Inspection Committee for Food Safety and Livestock Production Assurance, Grisha Baghiyan. "There will be no unhealthy livestock by the time of preventive health check-up in May," he said. "RA Ministry of Agriculture implemented a preventive health care program, stipulating for vaccinations' distribution among RA regions, with further healthcare services conducted free-of-change." Head of RA Inspection Committee stressed that cases of livestock brucellosis have been discovered in Sunik, Shirak and Kotayk. Livestock quarantine was imposed and treatment is being conducted. "As a whole, livestock health situation can be assessed as satisfactory. No severe infection diseases to lead to mass livestock mortality were registered," he said.
