WB can allocate extra $20 million to ArmeniaApril 18, 2009 - 12:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with World Bank Country manager for Armenia, Mr. Aristomene Varoudakis.The Armenian PM said the World-Bank financed project of Access to Finance for Small and Medium Enterprises is already in action. For his part, Mr. Varoudakis said that the World Bank can allocate extra $20 million to Armenia. "The draft strategy has been already submitted to the Board of Directors and will be discussed in early June," he said. "Rapid implementation of the project is a guarantee of government's anti-crisis program success," he added. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
