RA NA commission can't name those guilty in March 1 deaths

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hearing on the report of the commission on March 1, 2008 events was held in the Armenian parliament on Thursday.

Presenting the report, commission head Samvel Mikoyan dwelled on misuse of Cheremukha-7 teargas against the demonstrators.

"Use of Cheremukha-7 in open space is not banned. However, it can't be used as sighting measure," he said.

Mikoyan also said that the commission can't name those guilty in March 1 deaths. He added that "commission is not an investigative authority."

"We managed to clarify the circumstances of the deaths and tried to find out who was personally responsible for them," Mikoyan said, emphasizing that the commission did not get any backing or information from public and opposition.

He said additional investigation is needed to find the one guilty of the deaths.
