Minister of Labor and Social Affairs resignsNovember 18, 2009 - 17:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Gevorg Petrosyan informed Parliament journalists November 18 that he had handed in resignation. He accounted for such decision by health condition and intention to engage in teaching activity.Nayira Zohrabyan from "Prosperous Armenia" faction told journalists that Minister would very likely be replaced by Mkhitar Mnataskanyan, Head of NA Standing Committee on Human Rights. In 1994, Mkhitar Mnataskanyan was Administrative Director of International Red Cross Post-Traumatic Rehabilitation Centre. Later, in 1995, he became General Director. Since 2001, Mnatsakanyan has been President of Red Cross Society. He has been granted USSR and RA medals and orders, as well as "Red Cross" acknowledgement awards. On May 12, 2007, he was elected to National Assembly from Prosperous Armenia Party. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
