Hovhannes Hovhannesynan: Armenian government's economic policy brought county to deadlock

PanARMENIAN.Net - RA Premier should have faced non-confidence vote at 12th RPA congress, instead of being elected as party's executive body member, Armenian Liberal Party (LPA) leader Hovhannes Hovhannesyan said.

"Armenian government's economic policy brought the county to a deadlock, with 18.6% economic slump registered," he told joint news conference with RPA parliamentary group member Mkrtich Minasyan.

"Armenia's external debt comprises 36% of GDP, a figure, difficult to be covered in future. We must understand that European credits are provided to Armenia in exchange for resolution of political issues like Armenia-Turkey rapprochement and NKR conflict settlement," LPA leader emphasized.

For his part, Mkrtich Minasyan noted that ministers' and Premier's joining the Republican Party is natural.

Commenting on Armenia's external debt, RPA parliamentary group member noted that the credits are provided to states believed capable of returning them. He also noted that credits received will be allocated to 2010 social programs implementation and assistance to small & medium business.
