Armenian-Turkish rapprochement to have positive impact on region

PanARMENIAN.Net - Positive dynamics in Karabakh peace talks is conditioned by certain senior Azeri officials' statements on resuming hostilities in case there are no changes in the process, said Gagik Minasyan, member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

"Armenian-Turkish rapprochement will have positive impact on Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan, the latter having finally got rid of its recent years' illusions on conflict settlement," he told today a news conference in Yerevan. According to Armenian MP, absence of such illusions has caused Azerbaijan "to dash to and fro" in search of a way out. Such searches will last long, but that bears a certain déjà vu tinting since Azerbaijan's top officials are keen to believe that XXI century Turkish-Azerbaijani relations may follow the pattern of the XX century.
