31 000 people in Armenia received unemployment benefits in 2009

PanARMENIAN.Net - During the crisis, the number unemployment benefit recipients increased by 10 000 in 2009 (total number 31 000 against 21 043 people in 2008).



As the head of State Employment Service Agency Sona Harutyunyan told a news conference in Yerevan, the government allocated AMD 1.3 billion in addition to AMD 3.1 billion already provided, in order to promote the implementation of social program in question. As a result, monthly unemployment benefit now amounts to AMD 22 900 instead of 14 500 paid previously.



She also said that some AMD 246 billion were saved as a result of detection of order violations.
